Honda R&D Co, a wholly owned subsidiary of Japan's Honda Motor Co, and US' Stanford University have created electricity miniature fuel cells, Honda said in a statement Wednesday. In continuing fuel cell research and development, Honda will establish the miniature fuel cell technology by 2003, Honda said. "Fuel cell would be the ultimate clean next-generation power plant required to address problems such as developing alternative fuels, reducing exhaust gas emissions, and reducing the effects of global warming," Honda added.
Honda has been conducting extensive research into fuel cell vehicles, and the infrastructure necessary to supply hydrogen for these vehicles. This includes the feasibility study of solar-powered hydrogen production and fueling station for fuel cell vehicles.
