A Carlow man who stole 10 pounds worth of sweets from a petrol station appeared before Carlow District Court last week.
Joseph McShane, 'Da Vinci', 6 Braganza, Athy Road, Carlow, was charged with stealing 10 pounds worth of sweets from Deerpark Filling Station on August 27, 2001.
Detective Mick O'Connor said that the defendant went into the Filling Station and robbed 10 pounds worth of sweets while paying for 7 pounds of petrol.
The defendant's solicitor, Breda Fleming, said that her client suffers from depression and had mixed his medication at the time of the incident.
Judge Mary Martin adjourned the case until December 12 to allow a probation officer's report to be prepared
