The Izhevsk car plant has begun the assembly of South Korea's Kia Spectra cars. The first 12 cars have already been assembled.
Izhevsk car plant chief engineer Andrey Maslov said that the enterprise had received complete parts for 180 cars to be produced this month.
The price of the model assembled in Izhevsk is estimated at 12,000 dollars. The plant will produce 600 cars of the Russian-Korean model this year. Moreover, in future the number of imported complete parts will fall. The Izhevsk car plant will undertake to press, weld and paint the body and then to produce the engine, seats and lighting equipment.
