Yesterday the deputy director of PetroVietnam, a Vietnamese huge state oil and gas company has been arrested for the bribery.
Nguyen Quang Thuong was arrested after police sought through his home and office Tuesday morning.
Police found at his office many documents concerning his corruption.
Last week, state-run media reported that over PetroVietnam 40 officials had been accused of illegal activities that had caused multi-million dollar losses at the company.
The company is communist Vietnam's "strongest corporation" and earned nearly five billion dollars in revenue last year.
By the way, corruption is very widespread phenomenon at all levels of Vietnamese society, from paying teachers to pass exams to the very highest levels of government in Vietnam.
