Norilsk Official Confirmed Alrosa Merger Rumors

The former head of Norilsk Nickel, Russian metals giant Alexander Khloponin, has confirmed talks of the merger between Norilsk and Alrosa had taken place.

In addition to confirming talks between the companies, Khloponin, who is now governor of the Krasnoyarsk region, said the deal was being closely monitored by the Kremlin.
