Crude oil output of Kazakhstan reached 61.45 million tons in 2005, up 4 percent from 2004, Kazakhstan Oil Information Bureau reported on Wednesday.
The oil output of Kazakhstan National Petroleum Corporation (KNPC) reached 9.39 million tons; the outputof its joint ventures with KNPC was 15.39 million tons; and the output of other oil corporations reached 36.67 million tons.
Kazakhstan's natural gas output reached 26 billion cubic meters in 2005, up 27 percent from 2003.
Kazakhstan has natural gas reserves of 11,700 trillion cubic meters and oil reserves of 10 billion tons, the second largest oil reserves in the Commonwealth of Independent States. The country is planning to raise oil output to 100 million tons in 2015.
