China has opened its first terminal for shipments of liquified natural gas from Australia.
The facility at Shenzen is part of Beijing's plan to lessen its reliance on oil from volatile regions of the world. Visiting Prime Minister John Howard said that Australia would be a reliable supplier for China's booming economy.
Australian exports to China have quadrupled in the past decade.
