Japan Energy Corp., the country's sixth-biggest refiner, plans to process 2 percent more crude in the January-to-March quarter compared with a year earlier, after cutting purchases of petroleum products this year.
Japan Energy, the refining unit of Nippon Mining Holdings Inc., will process 5.62 million kiloliters, or 35.3 million barrels, of oil in the quarter, spokesman Masanori Takata said by phone today. The company estimated oil processing during the current quarter ending Dec. 31 of 5.68 million kiloliters, up 5 percent from a year earlier.
