The Belarusian state petrochemical concern Belneftekhim
intends to ship over 3 million tonnes of oil products to Ukraine in 2020, Belneftekhim Deputy Chairman Vladimir Sizov told the Vestnik Belneftekhima magazine, BelTA has learned.
“We hold a secure position in Ukraine and will spare no effort to expand our presence there. Plans are in place to supply 3.2 million tonnes of oil products in 2020. The current quality and terms of work with Belarusian oil refineries allow us to be confident in our future on this market,” Vladimir Sizov
Plans are in place to export 230,000 tonnes of diesel fuel to Poland and 150,000 tonnes to the Baltic states. Belneftekhim also intends to step up its presence in terms of diesel fuel in these countries. “The Russian market is also promising, but first of all we need to address the issues regarding equal conditions for Belarusian and Russian oil
refineries within the existing integration structures,” he added.
Vladimir Sizov also spoke about progress with export plans for 2020. “We are extremely dependable on the global situation. The drop in prices to $20 per barrel affected our performance. We have optimized the volume of oil refining to an extent, but our main task was to improve the economic performance of the Belarusian oil refineries. We understand it very clearly: the profit they are making will affect the completion of the upgrading and the opportunities for implementation of promising projects,” he noted.
“Despite the slump in Q1 and Q2, we are witnessing the revival of the market. We hope that the sales of oil products in 2020 will be the same as last year,” Vladimir Sizov added.
