Japanese company NSC-Sumitomo won a tender to construct a gas pipeline for the Qaradag Hydroelectric Power Station Severnaya in Azerbaijan, Turan reports. The company will implement construction for a suggested price of 14.025 billion yen. However, rumors of government
officials' involvement have angered a number of companies, which in turn refused to participate in the tender. The Japanese Bank of International Cooperation is financing the project with an 18.3 billion yen credit over 40 years with an interest rate of 0.75 percent.
