Kazakh oil to enter Mediterranean market by Druzhba and Adria oil pipelines

Kazakh producers will be able to transport oil through the system of Druzhba (Friendship) and Adria oil pipelines to the world markets, including the Mediterranean, Semen Vainshtok, the president of Transneft (Transoil) company announced during Export of oil and gas from states of Caspian region seminar.

Integration of Druzhba and Adria oil pipelines with the exit to the Omishal Croat port in the Adriatic Sea is now underway. Vainshtok said earlier that Druzhba-Adria route is not an alternative to the recently operating transport route of the Caspian oil via Novorossiysk. The integration of oil pipelines will let Russian and Kazakh oil producers to enter almost all world markets by means of Omishal port (Croatia), able to get tankers with deadweight up to 500,000 tons.

Transportation volume at the first stage will amount at 5 million tons of oil annually.
