The Trans-Alaska Pipeline System was operating at around 800,000 b/d midday Monday, local time, after resuming operations early Sunday morning, an official with operator Alyeska Pipeline Service said. (Story 1705 GMT) Operations are stable and rates are expected to be back to the usual 988,000 b/d by Wednesday at the very latest, the official said. The line was shut down Thursday after being punctured by a bullet from a high-power rifle. The 800-mile line was fully operational at 7:35 a.m. local time Sunday after repairs were completed on the bullet hole. A suspect is in custody for allegedly shooting causing the rupture, which resulted in a 6,800-bbl spill.
