Crossair, the Swiss carrier that is taking over Swissair Group's fleet, has found a US partner to boost its network in the US, Chief Executive Officer Andre Dose said.
The airline will be named at a briefing tomorrow, he said in an interview at Crossair's base in Basel, Switzerland. The new flag carrier, which will fly under the name ?Swiss,? still expects to join a global airline alliance, he added.
A US partner could help Crossair boost passenger numbers by increasing the network of destinations it can sell tickets to in North America, the biggest market for air transport. Crossair will operate long haul flights for the first time from March 31st, when it assumes Swissair Group's 52 aircraft.
?I will present a US partner on the 26th,? Dose said. ?The US partner is extremely important. We need that for the beyond traffic, and we will have one.?
