A working meeting between Alexey Miller, CEO of Gazprom, and Klaus Schaefer, CEO of Uniper, took place in St. Petersburg on May 31. 2017.
The parties paid particular attention to Nord Stream 2, noting that the signing of the financing agreements was crucial to the implementation of the project.
Gazprom has supplied 22.3 bln cubic meters of natural gas to Germany since the start of 2017, which is 3 billion cubic meters or 15.7 % more than in the same period in 2016.
In 2016, Gazprom's gas supplies to Germany hit a record high of 49.8 billion cubic meters (a 10 % increase compared to 2015).
Gazprom already supplies 34 % of Europe’s gas.
Exports to Europe and Turkey rose 12.5 % in 2016 to a record high.
According to market specialists at Icis the amount of Russian gas that flowed into the European gas grid, excluding Baltic states, reached 42.3 billion cubic meters in the 1st quarter of 2017, well above the 37bcm in the same quarter in 2016 and 25.8bcm in the 1st months of 2015.
