President of PJSC LUKOIL V. Alekperov and Governor of the Astrakhan Region A. Zhilkin June 15, 2016 visited Vladimir Filanovsky field in the Caspian Sea where development drilling has just begun. The well is being drilled from an ice-resistant fixed platform (LSP-1).

It is reported by LUKOIL June 15, 2016.

First commercial production at the Filanovsky field is scheduled for the 2nd half of 2016.

V. Filanovsky is the largest of all fields discovered in Russia in the past 25 years.

It is located in the northern part of the Caspian Sea, 220 km away from Astrakhan.

The water depth in this area ranges 7 - 11 m.

The infrastructure development project for the V. Filanovsky field includes more than 330 km of subsea pipelines and 350 km of onshore pipelines.

An ice-resistant fixed platform (IRFP-1), a central processing platform (CPP), riser block platforms (RB) and a living quarters module (LQM-1), all connected via catwalk bridges, are already built on the field.

Category С12 recoverable reserves amount to 128 mln tons of oil and over 41 billion m3 of natural and associated gas.
