Tehran, October 1 - Neftegaz.RU. Platform 13B and 13D of Iran’s South Pars gas field (in the Persian Gulf) was loaded at Sadra yard in the southwestern province of Bushehr on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Payam Motamed, the operator of phase 13 of developing South Pars, said the 2,200-ton structures have been designed and built totally by the Iranian experts and the major parts and equipment have been supplied by domestic producers as well, the Public Relations Department of Pars Oil and Gas Company (POGC), which is in charge of the gas field development, announced.
The operator of phase 13 put the daily capacity of each platform at 500 million cubic feet of sour gas and said that they will be installed on their offshore spots by the end of the current Iranian calendar month of Mehr (October 22) and will start production in the winter, putting the production capacity of phase 13 at one billion cubic feet per day.
South Pars gas field, that Iran shares with Qatar in the Persian Gulf, covers an area of 9,700 square kilometers, 3,700 square kilometers of which, called South Pars, are in Iran’s territorial waters.
The remaining 6,000 square kilometers, called North Dome, are situated in Qatar’s territorial waters.
The field is estimated to contain a significant amount of natural gas, accounting for about eight percent of the world’s reserves, and approximately 18 billion barrels of condensate.
