Russian oil production up, gas down in July

Oil production in Russia in January - July amounted to 191,556,000 tonnes, up 7.3 per cent from the same period in 2000.
According to the Russian State Statistics Committee, production in July amounted to 29,046,000 tonnes of oil, up 9.3 per cent from July last year.
The leading Russia producer - LUKoil - produced 36.76m tonnes of crude in the first seven months, which was 1.7 per cent higher than in the same period last year.
Russian oil companies Yukos, Surgutneftegaz, Tyumen Oil Company and Tatneft in January-July 2001 produced 26,006,000 tonnes (up 20.7 per cent), 24,980,000 tonnes (up 7.5 per cent), 18,746,000 tonnes (up 22.1 per cent) and 14,292,000 tonnes (down 0.2 per cent) respectively.
In the reporting period Russia produced over 318,185m cu.m. of natural gas - down 0.8 per cent from the same period in 2000. Gas production in July amounted to 37,873m cu.m. - down 7.43 per cent year-on-year.
Gazprom produced 295,794m cu.m. of gas in the first seven months of the year (down 3.17 per cent), including 36,006m cu.m. in July (down 8.92 per cent).
