Born on April, 11, 1963 in Sterlitamak (Bashkortostan)
Upon graduation from professional-technical school entered the Ufa Oil Institute from where he successfully graduated in 1986.
Upon graduation from the Institute worked as a research engineer, senior laboratory assistant and senior engineer in the Oktiabrsk subsidiary of the Ufa Institute.
In October, 1988 - appointed head of the research laboratory of Kogalymneft (Kogalymneftegaz). Here he worked as a geologist of oil and gas output department, head of the central engineer-technical service of Kogalymneft (Lukoil-West Siberia) and a chief engineer of Vatieganneft (Kogalymneftegaz).
Worked as a chief engineer and head of Pokachevneft (Langepasneftegaz). In 1998 became general director of Uraineftegaz (JSC Lukoil-West Siberia).
On May, 25, 2000 on an out-of-turn stockholders meeting Azat Shamsuarov was elected President of Oil Company ONAKO. At the moment holds position of senior vice-president of Lukoil Overseas Holding ltd.
Married, has two children.
