Biography

Born 29 October 1954 in Volodarskoye village, Kokchetavsk region (Kazakhstan).

Graduated from the Ordzhonikidze High Command School, in 1985 v graduated from the Frunze Military Academy.



From 1975 to 1980 was the commander of a shooting platoon, then commander of an infantry company.
In 1980 v 1982 v commander of a shooting batallion of Soviet forces in Afghanistan.
In 1982-1985 v studied at the Frunze Military Academy. Upon graduation was sent to Afghanistan.
In 1985-1986 v commander of a regiment of Soviet Forces in Afghanistan.
On October, 16, 1986 v got wounded, after treatment returned to Afghanistan.

In 1989-1991 v USSR People-s Deputy, member of the USSR Supreme Soviet Committee on military men issues.
Since 1991 v Chairman of a Committee of the USSR Ministry Cabinet.
In November, 1992 v was appointed head of the Republic of Ingushetiya.
In December, 21, 1992 v he retired.

On February, 28, 1993 v was elected President of the Republic of Ingushetiya.

1993-2003 - Deputy of RF Federation Soviet.

In March, 1994 v was reelected President of the Republic of Ingushetia. He resigned in December 2001.

In 2004 Aushev served as a negotiator on the second day of the Beslan school hostage crisis, convincing the hostage-takers to release 26 nursing women and their infants.



Aushev is married and has two sons and two daughters.
