Gazprom may prospect South Asian fields

 

 

Gazprom is considering taking part in developing hydrocarbon reserves on the Sri Lanka shelf. According to the gas giant, the possibilities were discussed today at a meeting between Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller and Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa on oil and gas cooperation between Russia and Sri Lanka.

 

According to the nation's government, the republic has already identified eight oil and gas blocks in the Mannar basin along its northwest coast.
